What do you pay as a seller?

Currently, a private person selling does not have to pay to publish a listing or for a successful sale. Using the Service is free.

If we introduce fees in the future, such as listing fees, commissions or add-on services:

  • they will be shown clearly before you publish a listing, so you know in advance what the listing costs;
  • we will announce changes in advance in the Service and by email;
  • no fees will be charged for already published listings that were not agreed when they were published;
  • prices will include value added tax to the extent required by law.

For business sellers, any fees may differ from those of private persons. They will be stated just as clearly.

What do you pay as a buyer?

As a buyer you pay two things, both to the seller:

  1. The price. The price of the winning bid in an auction or the Buy Now price.
  2. Shipping costs, if the cards are sent by post or other transport. Shipping costs are shown in the listing. Pickup is generally free.

KorttiMarket does not add its own charges to the buyer's bill.

How does payment work?

KorttiMarket does not process payments. The sale is between the buyer and the seller, and the buyer pays the seller directly. You agree the payment method between you. Common methods are:

  • bank transfer to the account the seller gave,
  • MobilePay,
  • cash on pickup.

The seller states in the listing or in a message which payment methods are accepted. The payment period is five days from the sale unless otherwise agreed (Terms of Service).

Remember to pay safely: use a traceable payment method and pay only to the account the seller gave. Do not use gift payments of the "friends and family" type. See Safe trading.

Taxes and receipts

  • A private person selling is responsible for any taxes themselves. Income from selling personal-use movable property may be tax-free or taxable depending on the situation, and regular selling may amount to business activity. Check current guidance from the Finnish Tax Administration (vero.fi).
  • A business seller must give the buyer a receipt or invoice as required by law and take value added tax into account, see For business sellers.
  • As a service provider we may be required to report sellers' details to the tax authority as the law requires. More in the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions about fees

Is creating a listing free? Yes, for private persons at the moment.

Do you charge a commission on the sale? Not at the moment.

Who pays for shipping? The buyer, unless the seller states otherwise. Shipping costs are shown in the listing.

What if the buyer does not pay? Contact the buyer. If they do not reply, tell us ([email protected]). We can act against the user's conduct, but we do not collect payments on the seller's behalf.
